Cabby Hat Vibes

My favorite trend of the season has got to be the cabby hat. I saw it all over the streets of New York Fashion Week (via Instagram, of course) and I immediately fell in love. I do have to admit that I'm not a hat person - but this particular style called my name because it just screams fall. I bought it at Forever21 because I knew that if I ended up not liking on it, I wouldn't feel too bad since it was fairly inexpensive. Initially I wanted a black one, but ended up going for this burgundy one that adds a nice pop of color to any simple outfit. I'll eventually end up buying a black one because I loved it so much!

I decided to style it with a black wrap shirt, which I have also been obsessed with lately. Wrap tops, wrap dresses, wrap skirts. Everything. I went for cropped + flared dark wash jeans, and some simple black mules.

A Stroll Through the Park

I love exploring my city, but unfortunately it's not something I do too often. There are so many beautiful places to see, so this past weekend my sister and I decided to go to Balboa Park! My favorite area is the Alcazar Garden because of the tile detailing on the benches and fountains, and because it has the most perfect view of the Bell Tower (especially at sunset).

My outfit for this day was, as I like to call it, dressed-up casual. I wore ripped light-wash jeans, but dressed them up a bit with a one shoulder leotard and some black heels. This is something I LOVE doing - especially on the weekends when I want to be comfortable in jeans, but still want that edge. Also, as a disclaimer, these shoes may be heels but they are the most comfortable shoes in the world. I literally walked all day in them and felt zero pain.

This outfit was inspired by Kat Von D's new fragrance, Sinner. It smells so elegant and is perfect for a night out! (Product was sent to me by Influenster, but all opinions are my own!)

Wonderspaces

This weekend I decided to check out the much raved about contemporary exhibit, Wonderspaces. I had seen this art installation allll over Instagram - so I knew I had to check it out for myself. I bought my tickets in advance because they sell out super quick, so I did not want to risk getting sent back if I waited to buy them at the door.

There were basically 13 different rooms you could walk into and four virtually reality films you could see (the ticket includes one). At first I felt like I already knew what I was going to see, because again, I had seen photos all over social media. However, I was pleasantly surprised! People take photos in the rooms you can take good quality iPhone photos in. But there are other rooms that you have to experience to fully enjoy. Pictures alone do not do them justice.

So below are some photos I snapped. Hope you enjoy, and if you're in the San Diego area I highly recommend you check Wonderspaces out! But hurry because it's only here until July 30!

Holy Gingham

Let me tell you about my current obsession: Gingham. Everything gingham. I've kind of gone overboard with the amount of gingham patterned things I've purchased recently, but I don't regret it one bit. It's the perfect print for summer. I'm not usually a fan of wearing black when it's hot outside, so this is a great alternative. I paired this dress with pink suede mules, which I have also been wearing non-stop.

I decided to go to Holy Matcha in North Park for today's photos because it's such a cute location. And it's delicious. I have to admit I'm not a huuuge matcha person, but I loved Holy Matcha's iced matcha latte with coconut milk. The amount of attention to detail they have both with the food and the interior aesthetic is insane. I will for sure be coming back. If you're in San Diego you have to check it out!
